About This Project

Sunflower Development Group worked as the NMTC consultant for the Vecino Group on an $18 million innovative mixed-use student housing project in Pittsburg, KS.  The tax credits resulted in almost $6 million in gross equity to the project. The development will convert 4 separate historic blighted building located on the corner of 4th and North Broadway Street into 105 beds of student housing and ground floor retail including a business development center, business incubator, hacker-maker space, Root Coffee House and TBD retail. SDG secured $18 million in NMTCs from two separate CDEs resulting in over $3.5 million in equity. The project will be opened prior to Pittsburg State University’s fall 2018 school year.
