Sunflower Development Group plans to construct more than 300 multifamily units in Lenexa

After winning support from the city planning commission, Kansas City-based Sunflower Development Group wants the City Council in Lenexa to rezone nearly 38 acres from an agricultural district to intermediate and high-density residential districts to include a new apartment project called The Residences on Woodsonia.

Sunflower Developments plans to build 240 apartments in 10 three-story buildings on roughly 16 acres on the northern half of the property which will include amenities such as a pool, clubhouse, sports courts and a large community lawn space.

On the property’s southern half, Sunflower plans to build 62 townhomes in 11 four- and six-plex buildings on 21 acres with each townhome including one garage space and one space for a vehicle to park in the driveway.
