Sunflower Development Group was hired by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County to secure $8 million in New Market Tax Credits to offset increasing construction cost in order to construct a 10,000sqft grocery store in downtown Kansas City, KS.
The Unified Government, as owner and developer, built a full-service grocery store with The Merc Co+op as the operator in a food desert in downtown. The store provides healthy and affordable products to the surrounding multicultural urban demographic.
The project earned the Community Impact Award from the Kansas City Business Journal. Read the full article at KCBIZJournal.
