Sunflower Opens New Ambassador Hotel Addition

Sunflower is proud to announce the opening of a new addition to the Ambassador Hotel in downtown Kansas City. Located at 111 Grand Boulevard, the $14.9 million hotel addition includes 70 new rooms as well as an event space.

The addition could not have come at a better time. Since opening the hotel, occupancy rates have only grown higher. By the time we broke ground on the new nine-story tower, the Ambassador was consistently 80% booked. We were forced to turn away larger groups and organizations due to a lack of space.  

The new addition gives us the capacity to pursue much larger groups while still offering a boutique feel in the heart of downtown Kansas City. Of the 70 new rooms, seven are 543 square-feet “parlor suites” that include high-end amenities, spacious living rooms and built-in wet bars. 

Located at the top floor, the new event space is 1,500 square feet and offers sweeping views of the downtown skyline. We anticipate this space will be in high demand for guests seeking a one-of-a-kind view of Kansas City.
