Sunflower Development Group has secured $3.2 million in Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits to help transform the iconic Cincinnati Club building into a vibrant mixed-use development.

The Kansas City-based firm plans a $49.2 million adaptive reuse project that will preserve the basement and first two floors for event and catering space while converting the vacant upper levels into 99 market-rate apartments. After multiple previous applications, this successful tax credit award marks Sunflower’s entry into the Cincinnati market, joining other nearby redevelopments like the Doctor’s Building in reshaping the Garfield Place corridor into a growing residential hub. Construction on the Cincinnati Club project is anticipated to begin in early 2026, with Sunflower exploring additional local incentives to complete financing.
