Sunflower Development Group is developing the $150 million hotel in partnership with Homefield KC and the Margaritaville brand in Kansas City, Kansas. The 229-room hotel sits at the center of the $848 million Homefield development, near Interstate 70 and Interstate 435.
Margaritaville hotels follow specific standards for a universal brand, yet Mark Moberly, Sunflower’s director of real estate development, noted the team’s still has some creative influence to tailor the design to Kansas City, the Midwest, and Homefield, including an indoor pool that is unique to the Kansas City hotel.
Developers project the island-themed hotel will create approximately 250 jobs and be open to guests by mid-summer 2025.
