Next Phase of Downtown Mission Revitalization Heads to City Council

Sunflower Development Group’s proposed 180-unit apartment community, The Encore, is scheduled for a Mission City Council vote on January 21 following planning commission approval last fall.

Planned for a 3-acre site just west of The Lanes at Mission Bowl, The Encore will include a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom residences, along with a fitness center, outdoor pool, and dog park. A five-level parking structure with 241 spaces, including 23 public spots on the ground level, will be constructed between The Encore and The Lanes. The revised plan shifts away from ground-floor retail and live-work units to focus on residential density through downtown neighborhood zoning. The Encore builds on Sunflower’s continued investment in the Martway corridor, alongside the $3.5 million renovation of Mission Mart and the recent opening of Sweat Lab by Fusion Fitness.
