Sunflower Development Group is seeking updated tax increment financing terms for The Lanes at Mission Bowl while advancing additional residential and mixed-use investment in downtown Mission.
Originally approved in 2020, The Lanes at Mission Bowl was completed in 2024 as a 168-unit apartment community that ultimately reached approximately $43.6 million in development costs, significantly exceeding original projections. According to city officials, the project has also generated higher assessed values and tax revenue than initially anticipated. Alongside the requested TIF amendment, Mission City Council is also reviewing incentive plans for Sunflower’s proposed 180-unit Encore development immediately east of The Lanes. Together with the ongoing $3.5 million renovation of Mission Mart, the projects represent continued momentum in the revitalization of the Martway corridor.
