Sunflower Development Group, alongside hospitality expert Jen Gulvik, has been chosen to convert UMKC’s historic Epperson House into a boutique hotel and spa.
The 24,000-square-foot mansion, built in the 1920s, will feature 14 guest rooms, a café, restaurant, library bar, event space, and a hydrothermal spa. Sunflower plans to secure financial partnerships and historic tax credits to bring the project to life.
UMKC Chancellor Mauli Agrawal praised the initiative as a step forward for preserving this local treasure while creating a unique asset for the university and community.
