We’re excited to share that Sunflower Development Group has been featured by MetroWire Media for our work around the downtown Kansas City area. The feature comes shortly after principal Jason Swords presented at a meeting of the Kansas City Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) chapter.
Jason spent time discussing our favorite projects in Kansas City and sharing stories about what it took to bring them online. For example, our work on the former Traders on Grand building required an immense effort at the federal level. We worked with the National Park Service to have the building designated a historic site, which allowed our team to pursue Historic Tax Credits for the project. The $69 million project would not have been financially viable without those credits, and we were grateful to have an opportunity to preserve this piece of Kansas City history.
We also showed a look into what’s next for our team. Soon, we’ll begin development on the Uptown Lofts, which will be one of our largest residential developments to date. Located at the former Valentine Shopping Center, Uptown Lofts will feature 226 units, upscale amenities and built-in retail. We believe Midtown is primed for new growth in the coming years, and we hope Uptown Lofts will help usher in a new area for this vibrant and historic neighborhood.
