Sunflower Development starts infrastructure work on KCK apartment high-rise

The historic Russian Hill neighborhood in Kansas City, Kansas, has seen the beginning of Sunflower Development Group’s latest high-rise apartment complex — a type of development the area has never seen.

The Kansas City-based firm plans to build 505 Central, an eight-story, 129-apartment complex, on the corner of Sixth Street and Central Avenue. The Unified Government recently approved the developer’s request to rezone the property, and infrastructure work has started for the $40 million project. It will include 18 studios, 103 one-bedrooms and eight two-bedrooms.
