Sunflower Development Group has prided itself on revitalizing complicated urban infill projects in our region.  Our projects have required patience, persistence and a diverse capital stack of debt and equity including New Market Tax Credits, Low Income Housing Tax Credit and/or Historic Tax credits. SDG was founded on the principles of preserving the history and respecting the architecture of historic buildings, but has grown into a full service real estate development firm. The breadth of our expertise includes commercial, residential, industrial and hospitality. In addition to development, we provide an array of services including tax credit consulting, tax credit syndication and securitization, development, design, construction, and management for commercial, hospitality and residential projects.

Sunflower Development Group offers consulting expertise in the areas of real estate, hospitality, finance, and public incentives. Our development experience in sustainable commercial and residential projects as well as Historic preservation allow us to provide our clients unique service through personalized counsel.

With experience in developing both historic properties and new construction for retail, commercial, hospitality and residential use, Sunflower Development Group can provide expertise in developing projects on time and on budget. Our company partners with local architects and contractors in an effort to deliver the best possible value to our clients.

Our most recent project is the renovation of the Historic Gates City National Bank building to the Ambassador Hotel , a new 43-room boutique hotel. We are also redeveloping the Historic Cosby building, which will serve as new retail and office space in the heart of downtown Kansas City.
